A series of strategy games for iPod touch overlooked

Are you always looking for fun, addictive strategy apps? Are you looking for a challenging game with loads of replay ability. If you are, then you are in luck. Today I will be talking about my favorite turn based strategy games. There are two series that you may like. They are very similar. One is the European war series by Easy Tech. The other series is world conqueror. They are pretty much the same, but they have different campaigns and stuff. They are worth looking into if you like turn based strategy games. They are currently my favorite games on my iPod. I just wanted to tell someone about it. The picture below is an example of the combat. It has a lot of statistics involved. Here is the link to my favorite of which. https://itunes.apple.com/us/app/european-war-3/id504300412?mt=8

Fallout 4 Co op?

With the new generation of consoles drawing near, it makes room for new and better games with more features. Hopefully one of those games will be Fallout 4. I am particularly excited about what the new systems will be able to do that the current ones can't. One of those abilities could be cooperative play in the Bethesda game Fallout 4. There have been lots of rumors surrounding this game. Bethesda has not given us any answers. They have given us more questions. A little while ago a moderator on the Bethesda forum was asking people what they expect in Fallout 4. One question he asked people was how they felt about multiplayer and coop modes. I think that if Bethesda can maintain the dynamic plot then coop would make a fantastic edition to the game.

Team fortress 2 still popular?

In short yes it is, at least on the computer. If you want the long version here it is. I am going to list why this game is still popular.

Reason 1. For starters the game is now free to play as of June 23, 2011. Whats better than a free game?

Reason 2. Steam trading. That kept me interested.

Reason 3. Lots of items that can be obtained by random drops.

Reason 4. The game is easy to get used to and start playing.

Reason 5. The steam workshop has allowed the community to post maps and weapons for tf2.

Reason 6.  Team fortress is the master of class based games, so it must have some cool classes.

Reason 7. Teamwork. All of the classes must work together to win.

Reason 8. TONS of updates over time. Tf2 is still being updated today.

Reason 9. There are plenty of steam clans that host tf2 events regularly

Reason 10. This one is more personal, health packs are still relevant.

There are reasons why team fortress 2 is called the grandfather of team based shooters. These are just some of them. Even though the majority of the population on steam has moved on lots of people still play the game. If you ever want to play with me add me on steam, my name is Odstfromhell.

Xbox 1 vs. PlayStation 4

A new generation of gaming

The seventh generation of gaming consoles is coming to an end. The Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3 both had a good run. Pretty soon though the Xbox 1 and PlayStation 4 will be released ushering in the eighth generation of gaming. Today i will be comparing the two systems to the best of my abilities.

Computing Power

When buying a computer or what have you, one of the first things you need to consider are the system specs. Its not just computers that you need to consider about system specs. The Xbox 1 and the PlayStation 4 have very similar system specs. It looks like this time around the system specs wont be the main argument.

Cpu

The cpu is basically the brain of a computer. It is arguably one of the most important parts. The Xbox 1 will be loaded with an 8 core custom cpu built by Microsoft. The PlayStation 4 will be loaded with a x86 jaguar with 8 cores by amd. Its fairly equal even though Sony decided to buy a prebuilt cpu.

Ram

Ram is pretty much short term memory for a computer. As usual the more you have the more things you can handle. Both the PlayStation and Xbox have 8 gigabytes of ram. Equal right? Not exactly, the PlayStation has a faster version of ram. The PlayStation has DDR5 ram instead of DDR3 ram. DDR3 ram is what most computers use these days. To give you an accurate measurement about ram on a console. The Xbox 360 and Ps3 had less than a gigabyte and look what they can do. Either way 8 gigabytes sounds promising.

Hard Drive

The hard drive is basically the long term memory of a computer. The hard drive is where all of the data is stored. The Xbox 1 and the Ps4 come with 500 gigabytes of hard drive space. For a console 500 gigabytes is definitely a good start. I'm sure that there will be different models of each system in the future that have more hard drive space. If you normally download lots of games and downloadable content you may want to consider upgrading.

Games

For most people this is the deciding factor in choosing a system. If you are a halo fan then you will definitely want to get the Xbox 1. If you are a fan of Sony's Planetside series you may want to give the PlayStation a try. If you are looking forward to playing games that will be on both systems like Star Wars Battlefront 3 or Battlefield 4, then you may want to let other factors guide your actions.

Controller

A new system has to have a new controller right? Well...to a degree at least. I think the controllers look somewhat the same except maybe smaller. These days smaller is always better. On the Xbox controller the battery pack seems to be more compact. The buttons also seem to be more defined, more colorful.
The Ps4 controller looks pretty much the same except for a slight button layout change and the addition of a speaker on it. That should allow for some interesting abilities. The rest of the matter is personal preference.

Price

If you still cant decide what you want the price tag could convince you. The Xbox 1 is priced at 500 dollars and the PlayStation 4 is priced at 400 dollars. With the Ps4 being 100 dollars cheaper than the Xbox it has a lot of people convinced. Right now the price is the main advantage Sony has over Microsoft. One thing to keep in mind here is that they are giving us the connect with the purchase instead of a separate purchase. If you think about it 500 dollars doesn't seem so bad.

What if i don't want the new system?

It's not the end of the world if you can't afford the new system or simply don't want one. A lot of games will still be released for the Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3. For example Battlefield 4 and Destiny. As far as i know the PlayStation network and Xbox live will continue to be hosted, maybe with reduced support, but its better than nothing.

Whats all the hype on Alienware

Whats all the hype on alienware

If you have ever looked into getting a serious gaming computer, whether its a laptop or a desktop i'm almost positive that you have at least heard of alienware. If you have not its not the end of the world. Alienware is a series of computers owned by dell. Today I will share my opinion about alienware computers. Just remember a lot of what i say here is completely opinionated and if you don't agree with me on something please speak up.

Budget

I have never had an alienware before and don't get me wrong i would love one. It's just not in today's budget. I'm sure most of you would agree with me on that one. All of those fancy lights on the keyboard and tower to impress my friends. That would be awesome. Well i got news for you, those lights cost money. I cant be sure how much extra they charge for the lights but the cost of the machine says something. Alienware has three main laptops and two main desktops for gaming at the moment. For laptops there are the mx14, mx17, and mx18. The mx14 is the base starting at 1,200 dollars. The price goes up from there. They can be customized but the more you add the higher the price at the end of the lineup. The desktops are actually cheaper. They have the x51 and the aurora. with the x51 starting at 700 dollars. Thats getting to be a little more reasonable. For all of you budget minded people out there like me i don't recommend the laptops at least. I will talk about alternatives later.

Power

Most of the alienware computers have top notch or close to parts in them. For example intels i7 processor. This usually means very good performance for games. When you compare an alienware product to another computer most of the time the alienware would win. I can tell you this with parts like intel processors you definitely get what you pay for, but before you go out and buy an alienware you should read on.

Reviews

The reviews i have read from different places have been mixed. Some people have said that the product he ordered was perfect and performed exactly as he wanted. Others didn't have as good luck with it. Some people reported that it was not set up in the customization they ordered. I also heard that the laptops overheat like crazy, which is not a huge issue if you have a good fan or a cooling pad.

Alternatives

There are lots of alternatives out there. Most of them are cheaper than alienware computers are. That doesn't mean worse though. Just go on ebay or amazon and search "gaming desktop" and lots of things will catch your eye. Go see for yourself. You may also want to look into building your own desktop. It sounds a lot harder than it actually is. If you don't know where to start you may want to check out a place called www.gooeypc.com. They compare computer parts to make sure they are compatible. To get parts you may want to check out this place as well, its called www.newegg.com. Building a computer or buying one off of amazon or ebay are great alternatives to alienware computers, even if they are not as fancy.
